The Aortic Vessel is inspired by the curved oval forms of Japanese paper lanterns and mid-century lighting. Combining his Japanese heritage into his lighting designs, Isamu Noguchi created the Akari collection which has remained crafted in Gifu at the Ozeki & Co manufactory since 1951.
